NYU School of Law provides combined degree options that award both a Juris Doctor (JD) and either a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy or a Master of Urban Planning (MUP). Candidates have the opportunity to complete a JD/MPA or JD/MUP through collaboration with NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
The NYU Wagner curriculum equips graduates to emerge as tomorrow's leaders across public sector, nonprofit, and mission-driven private organizations. Through core instruction in management strategies, policy development, data analysis, and fiscal oversight, Wagner students gain essential capabilities to address critical societal challenges.
NYU Law accepts twelve Wagner credits counting toward the JD requirements. Similarly, NYU Wagner recognizes twelve Law School credits applicable to the MPA or MUP programs. While standard MPA and MUP degrees require 45 credits, dual-degree participants need only complete 33 credits at Wagner since twelve credits transfer from their JD studies.
