Qualification Requirements

The Master of Arts in Media Studies program welcomes applications from individuals whose education and experience demonstrates motivation and creativity. Recent college graduates, people working in related fields, and career changers are all welcome. GRE or GMAT test scores are not required.

Your statement of purpose should be a thoughtful description of your background as it relates to your intended plan of study or area of inquiry in the field as you now envision it. It should also explain how the MA program (with its mix of theory and production) or the MS or advanced certificate program (with its combination of media-oriented business education and research and critical analysis of media practices, its faculty and courses, its position within The New School and in New York, and its resources) will help you realize your goals.
