The Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding program meets an urgent worldwide and community demand for experts equipped with specialized knowledge in this expanding discipline.
As identified by the International Commission on Education for Sustainable Development Practice (2008), graduate education often lacks comprehensive training that enables students to integrate knowledge across multiple disciplines. Our curriculum bridges this divide by incorporating innovative approaches and methodologies in peacebuilding education.
Through the School of Nursing, students can pursue this interdisciplinary professional graduate degree, earning a Master of Sustainable Peacebuilding (MSP). The MSP program equips graduates for diverse roles in peace-related fields including global development, community transformation, conflict mediation, and environmental resource management. The curriculum cultivates proficiency in systems analysis, socio-ecological dynamics, and practical applications within peacebuilding and development sectors. Students engage in 30 credits of dynamic coursework featuring hands-on learning experiences. During their final term, MSP candidates satisfy Graduate School requirements through a culminating capstone project (comprising a research paper, presentation, and professional portfolio). The program offers flexible completion options spanning two or three years.
