The program focuses intensely on acting, musical theater, contemporary works, and theatrical design/technology, equipping students for advanced studies, professional careers, or diverse related fields. Through comprehensive coursework, students acquire hands-on training across various theater production roles. They further develop skills by participating in public performances. The program features instruction from distinguished visiting theater professionals. Majors must complete at least 62 credits in theater arts with grades of C- or better, with no foreign language requirement. Department majors/minors can apply credits from required practical courses beyond the standard 9-credit limit for Arts and Sciences degrees. Should students change majors or fail to complete minor requirements, only 9 applied credits will count toward graduation.
