The Psychiatric Technician Program equips students with foundational nursing skills, mental health concepts, and psychodynamic principles to better understand and care for individuals with mental disorders or developmental disabilities.
This program holds approval from the Board of Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT).
Students who complete the coursework earn an Associate in Science degree. The program also prepares graduates to sit for California's Psychiatric Technician licensure exam. While general education courses required for the degree are outlined in the Mt. San Antonio College Catalog, these aren't mandatory for eligibility to take the state board examination.
