The Associate in Arts in Social Justice Studies for Transfer is a multidisciplinary program equipping students with foundational knowledge and competencies for bachelor's degree pathways in Social Justice or similar disciplines. This curriculum immerses participants in fundamental concepts of social justice, equity, and societal transformation, encouraging critical examination of systemic barriers—rather than individual shortcomings—as root causes of disparities in resource allocation, educational access, career opportunities, and societal advantages.
The Associate in Arts in Social Justice Studies for Transfer degree can be obtained through:
1. Successful completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units transferable to California State University, encompassing:
A. Either the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or California State University General Education Breadth Requirements.
B. At least 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a concentration approved by Mt. San Antonio College District.
2. Achieving a minimum 2.0 GPA. All major coursework must be completed with grades of C or higher, with Pass grades accepted for courses taken on a Pass/No Pass basis. Transfer degree recipients in Social Justice Studies are exempt from additional local graduation mandates.
