Geography encompasses a wide-ranging field of study, blending core classes in Earth and Social Sciences. These fundamental courses are complemented by specialized classes that apply geographic concepts to specific global areas, along with studies examining the crucial connection between humans and their environment, incorporating subjects like Anthropology, Political Science, Biology, and Earth Sciences.
To obtain an Associate in Arts in Geography for Transfer degree, students must fulfill 60 transferable semester units acceptable to the CSU system, following either the IGETC or CSU GE breadth requirements, plus a major comprising at least 18 units. A minimum 2.0 GPA in all CSU-transferable courses is required for the associate transfer degree, with all major courses completed at a C grade or higher. Those earning this transfer degree are exempt from additional local graduation mandates.
