Mental health professionals serve in various community environments such as clinical mental health centers, medical facilities, social service organizations, and independent practices. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling curriculum equips future counselors with the essential training to assist diverse populations across these settings. Alumni from our program find employment in the aforementioned areas, addressing specialized concerns like relationship counseling, eating disorders, psychological transitions, and various developmental obstacles. The program's coursework fulfills the educational prerequisites for obtaining initial licensure (Licensed Associate Counselor, LAC) and ultimately qualifies graduates for independent practice licensure (Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC). These academic requirements align with New Jersey state regulations for counselor certification, preparing students for both associate and professional licensure pathways.
