The College of Education and Human Development's Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in School Psychology prepares professionals to provide comprehensive educational and mental health support for children and families locally and nationwide. Through collaboration with educators in various school settings, graduates enhance student learning and emotional health. This rigorous program blends theoretical knowledge with practical applications across developmental, cognitive, social, and behavioral areas, fostering advanced professional skills for delivering evidence-based, data-informed, and culturally sensitive school psychology services. Program participants develop expertise in assessment, intervention, consultation, teaching, and research to improve student outcomes. This four-year cohort program builds a strong interdisciplinary foundation in psychology and education. Upon completion, students earn both an Ed.S. and Master of Arts in School Psychology, qualifying them for Illinois licensure.
