The Graduate Programs in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry primarily award Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry, though we are currently accepting direct applications for Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in these fields. Our twenty active research faculty specialize in diverse areas including analytical chemistry, biochemistry, computational chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, materials science, and physical chemistry. Their expertise spans multiple specialty domains such as chemical synthesis, microbiological techniques, molecular structure analysis, spectroscopy, and reaction mechanisms. Our department fosters highly collaborative research, offering students interdisciplinary opportunities both within the university and internationally.
