Montana State's Graphic Design program begins with foundational coursework, requiring students to pass a sophomore portfolio review to advance as full majors in their junior and senior years. The curriculum builds professional competencies that lead to careers in advertising, publishing, marketing, PR, UX design, and other creative fields. For three decades, program alumni have secured positions with major brands including Adidas, Starbucks, Nike, K2 Skis, and Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply.
Freshmen will be considered for admission on the basis of their secondary school record and their English proficiency. Applicants who can prove their English language proficiency and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5/4.0 on a U.S. scale will qualify for admission.
