The Photography program at Montana State University emphasizes both artistic and professional applications of the medium. While developing skills in analog and digital photography through hands-on studio work, students examine photography's expressive potential under the mentorship of accomplished faculty who bring extensive gallery and publishing expertise. The curriculum covers everything from classic darkroom methods to experimental analog techniques, alongside comprehensive digital photography training. Within the Film and Photography degree, students can choose between two additional specializations: Film or Integrated Lens-Based Media.
