The majority of aerospace professionals focus on aircraft design and development within the aviation sector. Our mechanical and aerospace engineering department delivers thorough graduate-level training across multiple specializations. Key focus areas include aerodynamics, high-speed gas flow, space vehicle design, propulsion systems, aircraft structures, plasma technology applications, system optimization, and flight control systems. Students can customize their education through various interdisciplinary options. The program awards both Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees, along with specialized graduate certificates in aerospace and mechanical engineering disciplines.

Transcripts (in English) from all colleges and universities attended. All unofficial copies of transcripts and scores can be uploaded to your online application for S&T to review. Upon arrival on campus, you must request that an official copy of your transcript(s) to be sent to us directly from your previous university's registrar's office and all official scores reported directly from the respective testing agency. Once we receive the official documents, we will verify them. If there are any discrepancies between the unofficial documents you submitted, Missouri S&T will withdraw your admission and you will not be allowed to apply to S&T in the future.

Applicants who have received a degree from a United States university will also be exempt from providing English test scores. Students applying for a graduate degree program at S&T must meet one of the minimum scores:
TOEFL: 80, IELTS: 6.5
A candidate for the degree of doctor of philosophy must pass a qualifying examination. The candidate is considered to have passed the qualifying examination if the candidate has taken at least four courses and has a GPA 3.5 at the end of the candidate's fourth semester. At least two courses must be in the MAE department, one of which must be at the 6000-level.
