An environmental science degree offers interdisciplinary versatility, equipping you with tools from various fields to tailor a program aligned with your professional aspirations.
Those earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in environmental science gain preparation for roles in environmental compliance, natural resource management, environmental health and safety, as well as for advanced academic programs.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports strong demand for environmental scientists, driven by rising public concern about environmental risks, climate change, and the challenges of population growth. Employment opportunities are particularly abundant in state/local governments and consulting industries. Projections indicate environmental scientist roles will grow by 8% over the next decade - outpacing average job growth (5%) as well as demand for wildlife biologists (5%), chemists (4%), and geoscientists (6%).
Beyond traditional Environmental Scientist roles, this degree opens doors to diverse positions not typically classified under that title. Our program's curriculum satisfies educational requirements for roles including wetlands biologist, biological science technician, ecologist, natural resources manager, conservation specialist, environmental educator, and forestry technician across private, government, and nonprofit sectors. Graduates may also pursue advanced degrees and professional programs.
