Students pursuing the Ecological Conservation and Restoration specialization aim to positively impact land management through preserving and rehabilitating diverse native ecosystems. Situated at the junction of the Sierra Nevada and Great Basin, the University of Nevada, Reno provides proximity to major restoration projects in the Western Hemisphere. Alongside foundational Environmental Science studies, students in this focus area complete specialized courses in conservation biology, ecology, ecosystem restoration, management strategies, and GIS applications.
