The Environmental Science and Public Policy concentration offers an interdisciplinary foundation for addressing contemporary environmental challenges. ESPP students complete coursework spanning biology, chemistry, earth sciences, economics, government, and mathematics while having the flexibility to focus on particular natural or social science aspects of environmental studies. This academic foundation culminates in junior-year seminars that serve as a unifying element of the program. Honors candidates must complete a thesis demonstrating how their coursework has equipped them to investigate a defined environmental problem through original research.
