The Master of Science in Agriculture program specializing in Animal and Dairy Science comprises 30 credit hours, including a mandatory thesis. Students must complete 9 additional credit hours (4000-level or higher) in animal/dairy sciences courses as part of their graduate studies. These credits must cover at least one course in breeding, nutrition, or reproduction, plus one course focused on species-specific production systems. All candidates should possess practical knowledge of Animal and Dairy Sciences, which can be achieved by auditing introductory animal science courses (below 4000 level), assisting with Introduction to Animal Science instruction, or participating in departmental journal clubs. Those without an animal/dairy science (or related) undergraduate degree must fulfill one of these options under their advisor's guidance. Note: Undergraduate courses do not count toward the degree requirements.
