The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering provides graduate programs culminating in either a Master of Science in Biological Engineering or a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering. Key research specializations encompass: agricultural equipment systems, precision farming techniques, livestock waste solutions, eco-conscious design, pesticide usage and safety measures, bioenvironmental engineering, seed handling and preservation, aquaculture technologies, agricultural simulation, and renewable bioenergy. The department houses significant research facilities such as: the Kimbrough Precision Agriculture and Remote Sensing Lab, environmental water quality testing centers, the operational MAFES/ABE Mini-Gin for cotton processing, and bioenergy research spaces. Competitive graduate assistantships for research and instruction are offered on a selective basis.
