Encompassing East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, this diverse region boasts a wealth of languages, cultures, and literary traditions shaped by centuries of civilization. Today, it plays an increasingly vital role in the world economy.
The Asian Studies concentration offers an interdisciplinary approach centered on Asia, built upon rigorous language, literature, and cultural studies. Students select either Mandarin Chinese or Japanese, completing at least 36 credit hours that include three years of language study plus elective literature and culture courses taught by CMLL faculty.
