The Asian/Pacific/American studies program, based in the Department of Social and Cultural Analysis (SCA), provides a comprehensive education exploring the historical and modern realities of Asian communities—whether from East, South, Central, or Southeast Asia, or global diaspora populations—within the Americas. Learners develop insights into Asian American cultural dynamics through examinations of law, arts, public health, urban governance, community research, (mainstream) media, linguistics, and creative expression. The initiative works in partnership with the A/P/A Institute to host influential creators, academics, performers, and advocates who interact directly with students, professors, and New York City residents. Its exceptional faculty, including accomplished curators, social advocates, and creative professionals, delivers an eclectic curriculum spanning from aesthetic politics to hidden New York narratives.
