The Print & Digital Journalism program provides instruction in writing, editing, photography, reporting, digital storytelling, media ethics, and legal principles. This specialization prioritizes core competencies including precise writing, fact-based journalism, time-sensitive reporting, and editorial skills while expanding students' expertise in digital production and publishing within today's multimedia landscape. Our curriculum consistently integrates multiple platforms, culminating in the senior capstone project, Bulldog Online Newsroom.

Program graduates become strong candidates for roles at newspapers, magazines, and online media outlets statewide and nationally, while also securing communications positions in higher education, corporate communications, agricultural extension services, and public sector organizations. P&DJ alumni work at prestigious organizations including the Los Angeles Times, Houston Chronicle, Mississippi Today, Sports Illustrated, the Tennessean, the Columbus Commercial-Dispatch, the Starkville Daily News, and numerous other media outlets.
