The Midwestern State University Graduate Program in Psychology aims to deliver exceptional training in evaluating and addressing psychological disorders across all age groups, from children to adults, as well as within family and community settings. Graduates acquire expertise in personal, interpersonal, educational, and vocational domains that influence individuals, families, and communities. While emphasizing master's-level practice, we strongly support students in advancing to doctoral studies, viewing our program as a foundational step toward that aspiration. Our program is built upon core values that shape our approach to psychological training, including: (1) scientific inquiry - employing research and knowledge development for problem-solving, (2) clinical practice - applying psychological theories and effective treatments while respecting individual differences like culture, gender, age, and socioeconomic status, (3) ethical standards - maintaining professional integrity that elevates the psychology field, and (4) interpersonal skills - cultivating behaviors that promote trust, empathy, and self-reflection.
