The School Psychology Educational Specialist (EdS) program spans three years, combining two years of on-campus classes with a full-year internship. Students in the EdS Program generally receive a Master of Science (MS) Degree upon completing their initial year of coursework. This program holds full accreditation from both the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the National Council for Accreditation in Teacher Education (NCATE). EdS graduates qualify for Kentucky school psychologist certification and typically meet licensure criteria in numerous other states. The program also satisfies part of the qualifications needed for Psychological Associate certification through the Kentucky Board of Psychology. Certification rules vary by state, and school psychology positions are widely available. Detailed EdS in School Psychology requirements are outlined in the program handbook. The specialist curriculum consists of two academic years followed by a 12-month internship. Candidates with either bachelor's or master's degrees may apply for admission.
