The Radiologic Sciences bachelor's degree (BSRT) program prepares students for careers as radiologic technologists. After fulfilling all program requirements, graduates can apply to take the national certification exam offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Texas state certification as Medical Radiologic Technologists may also be available to qualified graduates.
Accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), the BSRT program employs a comprehensive educational approach. Its mission focuses on developing skilled, empathetic radiologic technologists who evolve professionally within healthcare teams. Program objectives ensure that BSRT students will: Apply clinical skills through proper positioning techniques and radiation safety practices. Develop critical thinking by evaluating radiographic images and adjusting technical settings. Exhibit professionalism through ethical conduct and respect for the field. Master healthcare communication through demonstrated verbal and written abilities.
