Our Master of Arts program uniquely blends museum studies with arts management, attracting diverse students from performing arts, visual arts, music, as well as science, history, anthropology, and other fields. Throughout the program, we emphasize how management serves as a platform for meaningful community engagement and positive social impact. Students benefit from our extensive network of faculty and professional mentors deeply rooted in the arts and museum sectors.
Additionally, we provide distinct graduate certificates in Museum Studies and Arts & Cultural Management. These certificates cater both to MSU graduate students from other disciplines seeking complementary expertise and to professionals aiming to elevate their careers.
The interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Arts, Cultural Management and Museum Studies, offered through the College of Arts and Letters, equips students for leadership roles in arts/cultural organizations or creative entrepreneurship. Students tailor their electives to focus on museum operations, arts administration, or cultural leadership based on their interests. While maintaining a broad definition of the arts, our program incorporates perspectives from science, business, history, anthropology, and other disciplines.
