The City Design and Development (CDD) team focuses on studying and shaping urban spaces, regional areas, and their constructed and natural surroundings. Their work spans diverse scales, from inner-city neighborhoods and downtown districts to suburban peripheries. Alumni pursue careers across private firms, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations, serving as urban designers, planning advisors, public sector administrators, preservation advocates for historic sites and landscapes, housing policy specialists, land use experts, real estate developers, and transportation system planners.

To be admitted as a regular graduate student, an applicant must have earned a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of acceptable standing.
