The program cultivates a comprehensive grasp of print media techniques, historical context, and cultural significance while encouraging specialized exploration of particular print and book formats. Cross-disciplinary projects, teamwork, and community involvement are integral components, alongside diverse professional practice and research initiatives—all working together to help students develop their unique artistic perspectives.
MICA is home to both Dolphin Press & Print and Globe Press. Through coursework, internships, and work opportunities at these presses, students acquire hands-on experience partnering with acclaimed artists and designers, mastering industry production standards, and building business acumen. Students actively participate in print and book exhibitions in Baltimore and New York, as well as collaborate with print studios regionally and across the country.
