The Master of Science in Applied Economics (MSAE) program prepares graduates for roles as economic, market, or financial analysts across various sectors including private industry, government, and finance. This curriculum equips students with a strong foundation in economic principles and hands-on training in advanced quantitative methods, preparing them for careers as business economists, financial analysts, policy researchers, government economists, or consulting professionals. Unlike conventional economics programs focused on theory, Marquette's MSAE emphasizes practical problem-solving skills for real-world business and policy challenges. The coursework trains professionals to create, implement, and analyze economic models, prioritizing practical applications of economic theory and quantitative methods over abstract concepts. Students enhance their communication abilities through regular presentations, written reports, and applied projects. Most students finish the degree within three to four semesters.
