The master's program in the history of philosophy grounds students in philosophical traditions from ancient to modern times, equipping them to critically engage with today's philosophical challenges. Meanwhile, the social and applied philosophy master's offers intensive philosophical preparation for careers outside academia or advanced graduate work. The Graduate School now provides a special rate of $500 per credit hour for all humanities graduate students, representing nearly 60% savings in these MA programs: English, History, Theology, and Philosophy. This affordable rate demonstrates Marquette's dedication to the humanities, central to our Jesuit educational mission. Students can earn the Philosophy MA in just two years through our Accelerated Degree Program, while Philosophy undergraduates may pursue the combined BA/MA option within five years. Competitive applicants may qualify for partial tuition assistance, with 2-3 awards granted annually.
