The Bachelor's in Social Work program equips future practitioners to strengthen individuals' abilities to solve problems and manage challenges. Social workers in this profession connect people, families, and neighborhoods with essential resources, services, and opportunities they might not have known about or been able to utilize before.
Madonna's BSW curriculum combines academic study with hands-on training to develop the expertise required for assisting varied client groups and at-risk populations. Graduates leave the program with these key professional abilities:
Competency 1: Exhibit Ethical and Professional Conduct
Competency 2: Promote Human Rights Along With Social, Racial, Economic, and Environmental Justice
Competency 3: Incorporate Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ADEI) in Professional Work
Competency 4: Utilize Research to Guide Practice and Apply Practice to Inform Research
Competency 5: Participate in Policy Implementation
The social work curriculum is carefully structured to accommodate students juggling multiple commitments outside their studies. Courses are scheduled for late afternoons, with some available through hybrid or fully online options. Small class sizes promote meaningful connections between learners and instructors, who contribute diverse professional backgrounds and real-world insights to the educational environment.
Current high school students and high school graduates who have not enrolled in a post-secondary institution after high school apply to Madonna as a freshman.
Cumulative high school GPA of 2.8 or above
