The program provides associate and bachelor's degree options, along with a post-baccalaureate certificate that can be finished in one year of full-time study. Graduates enjoy strong placement rates at leading law firms, corporations, and courts in the Metro area, thanks to the mandatory internship component. Accredited by the American Bar Association since 1984, this program maintains an exceptional standing within the legal profession. Students benefit from a flexible schedule, with only 9 semester hours of legal specialty courses needing in-person instruction. All classes are led by practicing attorneys. Bachelor's degree completion is available both at Macomb University Center in Clinton Township, Michigan, and through online platforms. Earning this degree or certificate does not qualify graduates to practice law or offer legal services directly to clients, unless permitted by statute. The Paralegal Studies Program aims to develop highly skilled, versatile professionals capable of supporting attorneys across diverse legal fields. Combining practical paralegal training with liberal arts education, the curriculum prepares graduates to meet the needs of today's diverse society. The program also offers specialized training for B.S.N.-credentialed nurses transitioning into nurse paralegal roles. As a rigorous undergraduate pre-law option, the program's legal research and writing courses provide exceptional preparation for the first year of law school.
