As a fundamental science, chemistry impacts everyday life in ways noticeable even to non-scientists. Educating aspiring chemists - and thus future researchers - requires balancing academic pursuits with broader societal needs. Chemists play a crucial societal role through innovations affecting multiple domains including law enforcement, healthcare, industrial production, environmental protection, and medical research.
During their undergraduate studies, chemistry and biochemistry students can serve as peer tutors for introductory courses.
These majors also gain hands-on experience as laboratory assistants, applying knowledge from their coursework to reinforce their technical abilities. Such opportunities enhance students' competencies, preparing them for diverse post-graduate paths including employment, advanced academic programs, or professional schools.
Nearly all our graduates have successfully launched careers in scientific fields.
Current high school students and high school graduates who have not enrolled in a post-secondary institution after high school apply to Madonna as a freshman.
