The chemistry education program equips you for the Illinois Professional Educator's License in Secondary Education with a chemistry specialization.
Starting in your first year, you'll engage in classroom field experiences, followed by more advanced placements during sophomore and junior years. These culminate in a senior-year student teaching opportunity. Throughout this journey, Bradley faculty and supervising teachers provide essential mentorship. You'll also collaborate closely with the chemistry department, gaining comprehensive knowledge to effectively teach the subject.
Our program holds dual accreditation from the American Chemical Society (chemistry department) and the Illinois State Board of Education/National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (education department). Additionally, we're proud members of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. The secondary education program earns national recognition from leading educational organizations including the National Science Teachers Association and National Council of Teachers of English.
