The Department of Mathematics provides graduate programs for both Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. With 51 faculty members along with postdoctoral researchers and visiting scholars, the department covers extensive research areas. PhD candidates can focus on diverse fields within pure and applied mathematics, spanning algebra, algebraic geometry, topology, knot theory, graph theory, optimization, differential equations, materials science mathematics, computational methods, analysis, probability, mathematical physics, and more.
