The Mathematics Department supports around thirty-five graduate students, primarily through teaching assistantships. These positions offer tuition assistance along with a stipend for their instructional contributions to the department's service courses.
The department provides two degree programs: MathematicsMS and MathematicsPhD.
MS candidates take advanced mathematics courses to prepare for careers in various sectors including business, government, and education. Some pursue this degree as a foundation for doctoral studies in mathematics or related technical fields. Most master's students complete their program within two years on average.
The master of science program equips students for professional roles in industry while also serving as a stepping stone for doctoral studies.
