The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) program is designed for independent, imaginative students who thrive beyond conventional academic boundaries. Today's employers seek forward-thinking individuals capable of addressing complex issues through diverse viewpoints. With the BIS degree, you'll gain comprehensive knowledge while customizing your curriculum to align with your career aspirations and creative vision. This program combines three minor fields of study with a culminating course, University Studies (UNST) 3900, offering straightforward structure with dedicated guidance from LSU College of Humanities & Social Sciences advisors throughout your journey. In UNST 3900, you'll develop a digital professional portfolio demonstrating to potential employers how you integrate competencies from multiple disciplines to tackle real-world challenges.
The Individualized Studies concentration allows students to combine three undergraduate minors into a cohesive interdisciplinary focus. Completion requires fulfilling all requirements for each selected minor program.
