This 48-credit Master of Science program qualifies you for New York state certification in both Childhood Education and Special Education. You'll gain expertise in creating and delivering cutting-edge curricula for students in Grades 1 through 6, while specializing in teaching children with diverse needs such as intellectual disabilities, learning challenges, emotional/behavioral issues, developmental conditions, and physical impairments. The program delves into special education's historical context, social implications, and legal framework, complemented by hands-on clinical experience working with special needs children. You'll develop skills to recognize different learning challenges and customize teaching approaches and materials accordingly.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
