The AI & Robotics research team in Lehigh's CSE department explores diverse domains including computer vision, machine learning, deep reinforcement learning, robotic planning, resilient swarm systems, autonomous environmental monitoring, robotic manipulation, and large-scale knowledge structures. Their work extends to practical applications in autonomous vehicle perception, multi-robot systems, and enhancing deep learning model robustness, supported by funding from ONR, NSF, NRL, AFRL, DARPA, and corporate partners like Qualcomm and FORD.
Graduate students in Computer Science pursue innovative research across multiple disciplines such as database systems, internet technologies, computer graphics, human-computer interaction, multimedia processing, bioinformatics, AI systems, hardware architecture, cybersecurity, networking, and mobile computing. The program fosters interdisciplinary connections, with faculty and students collaborating across Lehigh's four colleges in fields ranging from biological sciences to engineering, as well as maintaining partnerships with external academic institutions and industrial research laboratories.
