Classics is a naturally cross-disciplinary area of study, encompassing history, archaeology, language studies, literary works, philosophical thought, and religious traditions. It seeks to illuminate the vibrant nature of ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, both in intellectual concepts and physical artifacts, while examining their connection to modern society. Lehigh's Classical Studies Program investigates Greco-Roman culture through diverse viewpoints and techniques drawn from both social sciences and humanities disciplines. The university's undergraduate classics program, available as both a major and minor, examines these ancient cultures through multifaceted lenses, applying various analytical methods from humanities and social science fields.
