Lehigh University civil engineering graduates pursue careers designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure including bridges, buildings, transportation systems, coastal structures, offshore platforms, dams, tunnels, foundations, and waterways. They serve in public roles with municipal, state, and federal governments, and in private practice with clients ranging from homeowners to multinational corporations. These professionals oversee complex, long-term projects with substantial budgets that form society's foundational systems. Modern civilization and economic activity depend on the infrastructure networks they develop - from power-generating facilities to the interconnected transportation and water systems. Lehigh's civil engineering curriculum offers comprehensive education and research experiences that equip students for professional leadership. The program develops competencies in large-scale project design and management while fostering leadership and innovation across diverse fields such as engineering management, business, law, and healthcare.

The TOEFL and IELTS are preferred, however TOEFL IBT Home Edition, and Duolingo English Test will be considered if those exams are not available to the student. Scores must be submitted directly from the testing/assessment agency and the most competitive candidates score above a 90 on the TOEFL, 7.0 on the IELTS or 110 on Duolingo.
