The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at GW provides a five-year dual degree program leading to both bachelor and master of science degrees in civil engineering. This program is detailed in the GW Undergraduate Bulletin within the School of Engineering and Applied Science section, under Special Programs and Five-Year Programs.
Key distinctions between the five-year program and the standard bachelor of science in civil engineering include:
In the seventh and eighth semesters, students enroll in three 3-credit technical and design electives at the graduate level (6000-level courses),
An additional mandatory graduate course is incorporated into the standard bachelor's curriculum during the eighth semester. (Refer to the GW Bulletin's Master of Science Degree Program section, under Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Representative Areas of Focus Leading to the Master of Science for required course listings), and
During the ninth and tenth semesters, students complete the remaining two required graduate courses along with six 3-credit electives selected with their advisor's consent.
Students should apply to the George Washington University (GW) as a first-year applicant if you are currently in your senior year of high school, have earned a GED or completed high school.
