This program offers high-achieving undergraduate students the chance to earn both bachelor's and master's degrees within five years. With approval, students can apply six graduate credit hours toward both degree requirements. The Bachelor of Science (BS) is awarded after completing undergraduate requirements, and the Master of Engineering (MEng) upon finishing graduate studies. A research-focused thesis-based BS-MS option exists for students seeking investigative experience.
The College of Engineering provides a tuition supplement covering the cost difference for up to six graduate credits taken by qualified undergraduates. Eligible students pay undergraduate rates for the two shared courses while maintaining program criteria. After undergraduate completion and graduate enrollment, standard graduate tuition rates apply. The non-thesis MEng program requires self-funding: assistantships and tuition waivers aren't offered, though many engineering companies provide tuition reimbursement for employees pursuing advanced degrees. For research-oriented students, a thesis-based BS-MS track remains available.
