Civil engineers possess the remarkable skill to transform intricate concepts into tangible structures, which is why we benefit from buildings, bridges, highways, railways, subways, airports, water distribution networks, and aircraft. Historical engineering feats encompass the Great Wall of China, Roman Empire roadways, Mayan archaeological sites, the Pyramids of Giza, and Stonehenge. In modern times, well-known civil engineering triumphs include the Golden Gate Bridge, Hoover Dam, and New York City's water infrastructure. These achievements showcase the variety, magnitude, splendor, and practicality inherent in civil engineering. Given their frequent involvement in public projects, civil engineers need comprehensive technical education and typically must obtain professional engineering licensure.
