The Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences-Physiology Interdisciplinary program equips graduates with expertise in cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine, neuroendocrine, reproductive, and exercise physiology. This program emphasizes an integrated methodology for both research and advanced education. Similar to other disciplines, this major utilizes cutting-edge molecular and cellular technologies to investigate issues pertaining to human health conditions.
The faculty comprises experts from multiple departments at Kent State University, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), and Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute. While students can pursue graduate studies across various research fields, faculty are categorized into two primary specializations: (1) environmental and comparative physiology and (2) cardiopulmonary and exercise physiology. These specializations cover distinct physiological domains, each supported by dedicated faculty mentors. This research-focused degree program ensures students gain comprehensive knowledge of physiological concepts and methodologies within specific concentration areas.
