The Master of Arts in Studio Art is designed for individuals with prior art or design education who seek to enhance their expertise in a specialized studio area (such as textiles, sculpture, printmaking, painting, jewelry/metals/enameling, glass, drawing, or ceramics). This program helps students develop a professional portfolio for pursuing an M.F.A., advancing in their current careers, or refining technical abilities for industrial applications.

The Glass specialization emphasizes that meaningful artistic expression emerges from dedicated exploration and receiving thoughtful feedback from instructors and fellow students. The program cultivates an environment where learners can deeply investigate concepts while participating in intellectual discourse. While honoring the traditions of the American Studio Glass Movement, students are encouraged to become innovators shaping the next era of studio glass artistry.
