The Master of Arts in Studio Art is designed for individuals who have undergraduate training in art or design and seek to enhance their expertise in a particular studio practice (such as textiles, sculpture, printmaking, painting, jewelry/metals/enameling, glass, drawing, or ceramics). This program enables students to develop a professional portfolio for pursuing an M.F.A., advance in their current careers, or refine specialized technical skills for industry applications.
Within the Ceramics specialization, students engage in rigorous artistic growth. Guided by faculty mentors and diverse coursework, participants cultivate their unique creative vision. The curriculum combines hands-on studio work with art history courses, guest artist talks, summer intensives, and study trips to New York City, concluding with an individual M.F.A. thesis showcase.
