The Master of Arts in History program enables students to pursue specialized studies across diverse historical fields. The curriculum focuses on analytical interpretation, research methodologies, and primary source investigation. Participants can engage in sophisticated historical exploration, scholarly research, and critical analysis. While building expertise in their primary concentration, students also examine historical periods and geographical areas beyond their main focus. The program additionally supports cross-disciplinary studies through related courses from other academic departments.
Prospective doctoral candidates should select a thesis pathway. Graduate assistantship recipients must complete the thesis option, producing original research that addresses significant historical questions through primary source analysis. Alternative non-thesis plans accommodate students not planning further graduate studies.
