The graduate certificate in Addictions Counseling equips students with all required training hours to qualify for licensure as a chemical dependency counselor in Ohio, granted by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.

The initial course in this program fulfills all training requirements for becoming a certified chemical dependency counselor assistant in Ohio. The curriculum covers:

theories and frameworks of addiction and compulsive behaviors,
pharmacology (including commonly abused substances and medications for treating substance use disorders),
screening and diagnostic evaluation for substance use and co-occurring conditions,
case analysis and treatment strategy development using ASAM criteria,
