The Equine Studies concentration provides graduates with a comprehensive educational foundation essential for success in the equine industry and prepares them for entry into veterinary medicine graduate programs. In addition to the required pre-veterinary coursework, this concentration enables students to gain practical experience in these key areas:
Equine handling and training techniques
Genetic makeup comprehension
Nutritional requirements for horses
Health assessment and illness prevention
Extensive management and training prospects
Access to scenic riding facilities while pursuing a Bachelor's degree
Equestrian studies students will implement their learning through internships shadowing equine specialists including veterinarians, farriers, and trainers.
Successful completion of a secondary school program that is equivalent to high school in the United States. (Official records must be evaluated by an approved educational evaluator service attesting that completion is equivalent to secondary school completed in the United States.)Certification of financial ability to meet tuition and other necessary expenses.
