The Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Applied Nutrition is an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) that meets the standards set by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. This curriculum equips students for careers across multiple nutrition-related fields, including clinical practice, community health, food service management, and wellness promotion - frequently leading to Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credentials. Students gain expertise in interpreting scientific research to address challenges in food systems, provide evidence-based dietary guidance, and serve diverse communities. The program blends conventional classroom instruction with Johnson & Wales' distinctive hands-on culinary nutrition laboratories. Participants create personalized nutrition interventions, master nutritional assessment methods, and hone their sensory analysis abilities. Alumni pursue careers in healthcare institutions like hospitals and clinics, as well as alternative paths including food innovation, educational nutrition programs, athletic performance nutrition, culinary media, and personal chef services.
